Finding out you're pregnant can be an exciting time but it can also be daunting and you may have lots of questions about what to do next and what to expect.

If you have paid the Immigration Health Charge with your application for leave to enter or remain in the United Kingdom, you are entitled to free NHS care from the date the Residence Permit or entry is issued.

Accessing healthcare

All pregnant women are entitled to healthcare during their pregnancy.  Whether or not you will have to pay for your care depends on your nationality, immigration and residence status at the time you receive that care.
